What is the difference between the Financial Portal Access Form and Delegated Access? What is the difference between Designated and Delegated Access?

Modified on Fri, 31 Jul at 11:18 AM

The Financial Portal Access form allows a PI to designate a Secondary User to process transactions on behalf of the PI for all accounts or for specific accounts.  Designated access does not enable a Secondary User to access the RCUH Payroll Reports.

Delegation is done online through the Delegate Account Access function in the Financial Portal and allows the primary user to delegate access and responsibilities to another user for all accounts or for specific accounts assigned to the primary user profile.  Delegated access will enable a Secondary User to access the RCUH Payroll Reports.

Designated users log in to the Financial Portal and are able to access the menu functions as a Secondary User. Delegated users must use the “Switch User” function to switch to the delegated user profile. A user is able to have both designated and delegated access which may be convenient depending on the user’s roles and responsibilities.
